Those are called <strong>cicada chimneys<\/strong>. They are a sure sign that a cicada nymph is below the soil, and will emerge in a few days or weeks.<\/p>\n<p><img src='\/cicadas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/2008-roy-chimneys.jpg' alt='Magicicada chimneys' \/><\/p>\n<p>Look closely at this picture and you&#8217;ll see holes in the ground.
