    this is so exciting ! Westfield is right next to Scotch Plains , so I’m sure this is part of the same brood what I saw emerge when I was a fifth grade Girl Scout in the Memoial Day Parade which I calculated was in 1962. that was 51 years ago, and 51 divided by 17 is 3 ! so these are the descendants of my childhood cicadas !!! amazing ! I hope they’re still there when I come to visit in a week and a half 🙂
