My friend Nicole DiMaggio sent us these photos of adult Magicicadas taken in Iselin NJ. The emergence is just getting started in New Jersey, and will really kick off next Tuesday when the temps hit the 80s.

Are there any emerging near public areas? I want to bring my 4 year old and show her, but dont watn to invade on anyones private space.

I checked out the Edison Monument (the monument for Thomas Edison) and Roosevelt Park, both in Edison, and I saw plenty of cicada holes in the ground. Once the emergence kicks off, maybe Tuesday, you’ll be able to see them there.
