For years my preschool kids and I look forward to cicada season in maine. We enjoy finding the cicadas exoskeletons and seeing the many stages they go through.

July, 20, 2022. I found a dried up shell of a cicada on my tomato stem today. Took a while to figure it out but made sense once I studied up on him.

Being from Oklahoma, seeing and especially hearing these all my life. I was shocked to see a cicada here. I had thought this one came in with the winds lately and was surely lost. Thanks to your website I see they are rare but they do live here. Found this one in the woods of Searsport today.

I live in Millinocket,Maine and I found one…they are adorable!I took a picture of the shell as proof that he was here, but I regret not getting a picture prior to it.I was afraid of disturbing him.

Found one in Minot, Maine August 26, 2020!!,,,beautiful thing. 1st one I ever see and my grandsons got to see it too! We took photos and did catch and release. 😊 Then we watched a clip about Cicadas by Attenborough (if my spelling is right.) My grandson can do this wild noise with his throat, we call it his male cicada noise…and of course just a snap of the finger sounds like the female. 😊 Fun experience with our beautiful Cicada.
