Here’s quite a few photos Roy has taken of the emergence. It’s kind of ironic that I’m staying with Roy and his family, and yet it’s taken me this long to post the photos.

    It’s happening again because there’s more than one brood of 17 year cicadas. In a nutshell there are 12 broods of 17 year cicadas, their location rarely overlaps other broods, and they never appear during the same calendar year.

    I live in Northeast PA and I’m beside myself with this cicada phenomena. I remember just 4 short years ago we had our cicada 17 yr celebration. Why is this happening again?
