More cicadas from Australia: Orange Drummers
Thanks to Jodi for allowing us to post some of her Orange Drummer (Thopha colorata) photos. Two today, two tomorrow! Apparently they’re hatching in droves in Central Australia.

Update: Just discovered that even though pics are showing on other pages in IE6, they are not for this page, but do show in Firefox. Probably some weird javascript thing.

We used to call these ‘tigers’. I haven’t seen one in Sydney since the early 80’s. Nice to know they are still around. Have you ever seen a ‘white ghost’?
