Brood XIII

Filed under: Brood XIII, Magicicada — Dan @ 8:45 pm

The questions about Brood XIII are trickling in. Here’s the information I have so far:

Here’s two Brood maps: @ insects.ummz.lsa.umich.edu and @ the Great Lakes Cicada Page.

As for records, you can find a few records of Brood XIII in Timothy McNary’s Cicadidae Bibliography, the most recent being “Observations on periodical cicadas (Brood XIII) in Indiana in 1990.”, in issue 100 of the Proceedings of the Indiana Academy of Science, authored by Kritsky, G. and F. N. Young. You can order a copy of this publication via the Publications of the Indiana Academy of Science website. Kritsky, G is of course the one and only Gene Kritsky.

More info to come, for sure.
